Children’s Internet Protection Act

The Children’s Internet Protection Act (“CIPA") requires school districts  to comply with certain Internet filtering and policy requirements.

K - 2 Lesson Plan
Students learn that they can go to exciting places online, but they need to follow certain rules to remain safe.
3 -5 Lesson Plan
Students learn that the Internet is a great place to develop rewarding online relationships. But they also learn to be cautious and to never reveal private information to a person.
In addition to CIPA lessons, Attorney General's Office representative David Shallcross provides an in depth lesson on being a "Digital Citizen" and extensive internet safety tips for our 4th and 5th grade students.
